Brushes #10 Round, #6 round, 1 ˝ flat, 1/4" flat, 3/4" flat (Silver Black Velvet recommended) The round brushes should come to a very fine point. The Silver Black Velvet brushes are often 1/2 price at Asel's Art Supply.
Paper - 4 (22x30) sheets of 140 lb. cold pressed ... Arches. Do NOT get Strathmore. I have paper at the studio that you can purchase at a discounted price.
Board
for attaching watercolor paper (I use Gatorboard.) This has a foam core interior
and a very hard outside. You may purchase this at the Asel's store in Richardson at Central and Beltline or the store in Plano at Central and Park.
Paints - These are listed in order of preference. You do not have to buy them all. I can supply samples of some of these colors. If you continue painting, you will eventually want them all. Buy good brands. The ones I recommend are Holbein, Daniel Smith, Maimeriblu and Windsor Newton. All these are good. DO NOT buy student grade paints. If you are asking a salesperson for assistance, be sure to specify that you do not want student grade paint. If you are not sure, wait until class for instructions. You cannot paint well with bad paint. Daniel Smith can be purchased only online at danielsmith.com.

Collage Supply List When finding things for collage, just remember that artists have no limits in this medium. I personally prefer different rice papers along with watercolor and acrylic. However, many people like to use photographs, wallpaper, cloth, wood shavings, sand, etc. You will have opportunity to try many different things. I will provide a set of rice papers for you to experiment with. If you have some papers already, bring them. You can purchase others when you see what you like to work with. · Supports for collage: 300 lb. watercolor paper works well. Matboards, foam core, canvas, illustration board, watercolor board, Ampersand’s claybord or gessobord… anything that is firm will work. Sizes: 8X8 8 sheets 11X11 2 sheets 11X15 2 sheets · Mats for these sizes (optional, but helpful) · watercolors, acrylics, pastels of your choice · doilies, pictures, old postage stamps, etc. · white gouche · acrylic medium: matte or gloss optional: soft gel medium , modeling paste · stiff brush to apply medium · watercolor or acrylic brushes for painting · sharpie
